Boost Engagement With These New Visual Content Tools

Published on February 26, 2016

We’ve written before about the importance of visual content on social media. It’s one of the best ways to boost your readers’ engagement with your content, hopefully leading to higher rates of sharing and clickthrough.

But though pictures and static visuals can be effective, we’re always looking for other types of visual content to add flair to our social marketing campaigns.

With some help from Social Media Examiner, here are four visual tools that will help increase your engagement on social media:

1.) Create Quizzes With Apester

Apester is an easy, straightforward way to design surveys, polls, quizzes, and personality tests and embed them on your social posts.

These tools boost your engagement by bringing your followers into your story – rather than simply talking at your followers, you’re allowing social media to open up a dialogue. The more your readers feel like they’re part of the conversation, the more likely they are to share your posts to bring more people in.

2.)  Curate Content With Roojoom

Roojoom allows you to compile and combine content from online and offline sources – including your site, videos, or even PDFs – into a guided “content journey” for your readers. This is a playful way to improve your bounce rate, as readers are encouraged to interact and follow your story all the way to the end.

These content journeys also have a benefit on social media: Rather than having to link to individual pieces of content, your readers can simply share links to your Roojoom. And remember, the more fun your readers are having with their engagement, the more likely they are to share your content.

3.) Design Collaborative Maps With Mapme

With Mapme, you can design maps around a specific topic and encourage your followers to contribute. So, for instance, if we were to set up a map of tech firms in Chicago and post about it on Twitter, we could encourage our readers to contribute any that we missed or weren’t aware of.

Remember, your followers love to feel like they’re an active and important part of your community. Getting them involved is a surefire way to increase their engagement as well as their loyalty to your brand.

4.) Display an Instagram Gallery With SnapWidget

In many ways, Instagram is the leading platform for social engagement, with its 300 million active monthly users liking over 2.5 billion posts every day.

Creating a personalized Instagram gallery on your site is a great way to harness some of that engagement. With SnapWidget, which comes in free and paid versions, you can set up a gallery on your blog by pulling in photos from a hashtag or your business’ Instagram account. When your readers engage with a photo, they are taken to the image on an ad-supported page on SnapWidget.

More than 100,000 websites are already using SnapWidget, and it’s easy to see why. It’s a simple, effective way to add visual appeal – and social shareability – to your site.
