Free Cellphone Plan from FreedomPop
Published on November 26, 2013

The "freemium" cellphone service plan from FreedomPop has a lot of phone owners intrigued, and rightfully so.
The FreedomPop "free plan" was introduced about a month ago and includes:
- 200 voice minutes
- 500 texts
- 500MB of data per month
If you want a slightly more robust plan, including unlimited voice calls and texts, they do have a plan available for $11/month.
When this plan was originally released, FreedomPop users had to purchase one of the limited variety of models that FreedomPop provided. As of 4 days ago, however, FreedomPop launched a "bring-your-own" device plan that lets anyone with a compatible Sprint phone (CDMA plus LTE or WiMAX) use their money-saving services.
Subscribers without a device yet can purchase models like the HTC Evo 4G from FreedomPop for $99. Know that their selection is rather limited at the moment, but they anticipate introducing more models to their plan by the end of the year.
Their actual cell phone coverage piggybacks onto Sprint 3G, WiMAX and LTE, so your coverage may cary depending on your location.
