Gadget of the Week – Equil Smartpen 2
Published on February 23, 2015

Turn your handwritten notes into editable digital copies with the brand new Equil Smartpen 2. This regular pen with regular ink works on any type of paper you wish to use. The added bonus is that it has the ability to record your pen strokes and can recreate your notes/drawings into an editable computer file.
Equil has the ability to sense even the most subtle difference in pressure between the pen tip and the paper. This information is stored directly within the pen until you transfer it to your compatible device (which includes Mac OS or Windows computers, Android or iOS tablets and handsets).
It comes with a range of pen tips and colors for supreme versatility in writing - and yes, there is even a stylus option. The pen is rechargeable, going 8 hours on a single charge.
It is paired with a software which seems to leave a little to be desired especially in terms of set-up, but the actual functionality of the pen is all that it claims to be.
