Gadget of the Week – Spro 2

Published on April 15, 2015

This Android-developed gadget acts as a portable projector, Wi-Fi hotspot, and phone charger all in one. A weirdly effective combo, if you ask me.

Aimed for the on-the-move types out there, Spro 2 is great for business folk who use a projector frequently for presentations, as will travelers and gamers who desire the freedom to project on any blank surface at a moments notice (and with exceptionally fast streaming capabilities, of course.)

The Spro 2 can project HD images up to 120 inches in diameter at 200 lumen. It also features auto-focus and auto-keystone correction.

While Bluetooth is available on the Spro 2, there is the added benefit of being able to take advantage of the LTE hotspot for faster streaming. There is also an HDMI port to connect an external hard drive, and a USB connection for video conferencing. You can hook up any of your devices to the Spro 2 easily, including your phone, tablet, or laptop.

The battery alone will get you around 3 hours of projection time flying solo, or 10 hours as a hotspot. You can also plug it in and charge other devices through its handy USB port. What's not to like here?

Starting Friday, April 24th, the Spro 2 will be available on AT&T. It will cost $400 with a two-year agreement or $500 without.
