Google Maps Now Has Real-Time Traffic Data Updates, Thanks to Waze
Published on August 22, 2013

It's only been a couple of months since Google teamed up with Waze (for a reported $1 billion), and we're already starting to hear about some pretty cool changes from both parties.
The Google Maps app on both Android and iOS will start to integrate the real-time traffic data that Waze users submit (like accidents, construction, road closures) into their own app. Waze gets the benefit of Google Search in their own app, along with Google Street View and satellite images.
These changes are at their infancy, but we're certainly excited to see where this will go. Is crowdsourcing the future of map apps everywhere?
