The Most Customizable Phone Just Got More Powerful

Published on April 25, 2014

You've probably already heard us sing the praises of one of our favorite services, IFTTT (If This, Then That), the ultimate way to connect web services interactively.

Now, we're pleased to discover, IFTTT has finally arrived in the Google Play Store - almost a year after the iOS app was released.  About time!

IFTTT + Android = A Match Made in Heaven

What has got most of us Geeks excited about this particular development, however, is freedom Android users will have with this new App.  Android technology is already the most easily customizable technology out there, which seems to go hand in hand with the functionality of IFTTT.

This app comes with special Android channels that integrate directly with phone functions.  This adds a whole other dimension when it comes to drafting your IFTTT interaction-based recipes.

This means you can program your Android phone to notify you, for example, when it is going to start raining.

...cool huh?

Make Your Own IFTTT Recipes, or Choose from Pre-Made Recipes

The beauty of IFTTT is that it is a highly customizable app, using a "If this occurs, then this will happen" kind of programming that integrates different app/website/phone activity functions so that they respond to one another.

An example of a recipe could be: IF I favorite a photo on Instagram, THEN it will be saved in this Google Drive document.

If you don't want to create your own, there are plenty to choose from from the IFTTT community.
